IFA 2016: What to Expect From Europe’s Finest Tech Parade

2099

Internationale Funkaustellung (IFA) is the largest exhibition of the latest gadgets and trendiest technological gizmos in Europe. It is an annual event that takes place every year around the month of September and provides a platform from which the various technological giants and device manufacturers can showcase their latest masterpieces. This September, leading technological firms such as Samsung, LG, Huawei, Sony, Acer and Asus amongst other firms are expected to launch their latest inventions.

Huawei

This year, Huawei is expected to unveil a successor to its last year’s Huawei Watch if the rumors about follow-up to its original design are anything to go by. If that is the case, then expect the Huawei Watch 2 in this year’s IFA conference alongside Huawei’s smartphone, Mate 9 with an advanced battery technology. Also considering the positive reception of last year’s Mate S, expect Mate S2 to also represent Huawei in the IFA 2016 convention. Huawei products will be showcased at around 1130 hours Berlin time for those who do not want to miss any detail.

Samsung

Samsung’s model smartwatch, the Tizen is set to be showcased at the event. It features three varieties of Frontier, Classic and Explorer besides Gear S3 which is a successor to the Gear S2.It is widely expected that the Gear S3 will come in the aforementioned models; Gear S3 Frontier, Gear S3 Classic and Gear S3 Explorer. Remember Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S2? It has a successor with very similar attributes; Galaxy Tab S3 with much improved features as is noted by the company’s Colombian website. This version is also expected to be launched in this year’s IFA conference alongside the Galaxy Note 7.

NVIDIA

NVIDIA had a new shield tablet for launch earlier this year but was later dismissed. It is therefore only logical to expect it in the oncoming IFA 2016.The rumored chipsets and driverless cars will just have to be confirmed at the convention.

Asus

Asus phone
With Asus, its main point of focus will be its already leaked ZenWatch 3, a successor to last year’s ZenWatch 2.The ZenWatch 3 will be an Android wearable smartwatch with a round face and three visible buttons on the side which will function as controls. In addition to that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 will also be incorporated into it. It is also expected that the company’s last year’s announced AR headset will be launched at the convention as well.

LG

LG is set to launch its V20 flagship phone in the United States and as a result begs the question; what will it unveil in Berlin? It will arrive at the event with LG G Flex 3, a successor to the LG G Flex 2 and will feature anticipated attributes such as a 5.5 high definition screen, a 16 megapixel camera, an 820 Snapdragon powered chip all infused in a unique external design. To find out more, you could attend its open house tour on Thursday this week.

Acer

Acer’s collaborative product with Starbreeze is expected to be unveiled in IFA 2016.The Oculus StarVR virtual reality headset will make an appearance alongside a brand new Chromebook. Other than the Predator 6 gaming device there is nothing much to expect from Acer given the fact that it had already launched one of its latest products; the Liquid Zest Plus.

FitBit

FitBit is expected to launch two main products; FitBit Flex 2 and FitBit Charge 2 both under different codenames of Laryon and Fermion. The Charge 2 features a thinner frame than its predecessor not to mention its big screen that will accommodate all the available statistics. The coin payment process that FitBit adopted can only leave us wondering whether these two devices will also feature this integrated payment plan. All these rumors will be confirmed come Friday 2nd September when FitBit’s conference will be taking place at around 6.30 pm.

Sony

Sony
Sony’s famous Playstation franchise is expected to have an addition this year; the Playstation VR. However, this model is expected to be in the markets in December so it is highly unlikely that it will be unveiled in IFA 2016. On the other hand, what to expect from Sony at the convention will be two new smartphones with rumored F8331 and F8332 model numbers alongside the Xperia X2 range if its annual two flagships pattern is anything to go by.

Lenovo

Motorola, Lenovo’s mobile phone brand has teased about MotoMods addition to the Moto Z smartphone alongside a one-of-a-kind captivating keyboard that comes with it at the IFA 2016 conference. Lenovo is also rumored to be planning the launch of a new tablet; details of which will be known at the conference.

Conclusion

Other notable manufacturers that will feature at the IFA 2016 include the Xiaomi, HTC, ZTE, Alcatel and TomTom. This year’s IFA 2016 conference is promising some quality additions and improvements to the already impressive gadgets that have dominated the technological markets. As a result, it is worth the wait.
