Do you remember smartwatches? Of course, you do since most of the tech news you read or hear is about smartwatches and other wearable gadgets. If you have read a lot about this topic then you should know now that this market is gaining its momentum and more and more people are interested in this kind of devices. Companies have also realized that they need to get into this market just to get ahead of their competition (or get into the competition). Several original well-known traditional watch manufacturers are trying to invest into making a smartwatch. Tag Heuer, a world famous Swiss watch manufacturer has announced that they are making a new smartwatch this year.
Tag Heuer’s Carrera Wearable 01
The new smartwatch by Tag Heuer will be called the Carrera Wearable 01. It may sound weird, however, the company has been always naming their products in this form. Not the best name for marketing purposes, however, it looks like this Swiss firm wants to stick to the in-company traditions with this name of the watch. At least we know now the name of the brand new upcoming smartwatch since it has been a mystery so far until today when the company has announced the making of the Carrera Wearable 01.
Enough of the name, let’s see some specifics about the smartwatch! It has been rumored also, however, it is now official that Intel and Google are working along with Tag Heuer in the latter company’s project to create a smartwatch by the Swiss manufacturer. How is this even possible? Google hasn’t announced its smartwatch, nor Intel is planning to do so, so that leaves them as the perfect partners to be the part of a great project that will most likely generate huge income for all three firms. Just imagine a beautifully designed Swiss watch that will fit on your wrist that has tons of smart functions that has been designed by Google and a fast central processing unit that will run the gadget on high power. If this project will be as good as we hope, it would be a huge success for all three companies, however, who will benefit the most from it is Tag Heuer since they have the license rights for the product, they will make it their own branded good and will sell it with their names. That’s why the device will be called Tag Heuer Carrera Wearable 01 not “Tag Heuer Google Intel Carrera Wearable 01”. The latter would sound pretty funny, however, the Swiss manufacturer is not planning to involve the other two companies who are working on the smartwatch to the name of the product.
The price of the gadget has been announced too along with the expected release date. The price tag would be 1400 Dollars, which would seem a quite fair price for a luxury piece of smartwatch. $1400 would seem much for a watch that can be operated in a smart way, however, we should remember that Tag Heuer has never made a cheap watch and has been always known for the high quality of its products. It hasn’t been announced, however, it has been rumored that the expected release date of the device will be this fall, around October and November.
Tag Heuer has announced that the Carrera Wearable 01 will have the same design and look as the non-smart version of the product the Carrera Heuer 01. This will make the product a beautifully looking piece with great smartwatch and futuristic elements. We will see what the Swiss giant and the two tech firms will bring with this watch for us!
